Embracing The Holistic Content Marketing Method
Do you ever feel frustrated with your content marketing efforts? Like it’s a hard, boring chore to create something meaningful?
Content marketing seems overwhelming and misaligned because of how you approach it. Instead of following every expert out there blindly, I’m encouraging you today to look at content marketing holistically. It involves using your heart, mind, and soul, making it feel less like a chore and more like a flowing process.
Understanding the struggle
Let’s start by discussing why content creation can feel hard. There are several reasons, but a major one is feeling misaligned with traditional content marketing methods. For instance, you may be told that, to make sales on Instagram, you need to create a Reel every day.
This involves recording videos, finding the right trending audio, writing the perfect hook, and crafting a compelling caption. The time and effort is huge, and in two weeks, you find yourself exhausted because you have a life to live beyond Instagram! You may end up giving up, leading to reinforcing your belief that content creation is hard and doesn’t bring in new clients.
The problem is that these traditional “follow the shoulds” methods often feel inauthentic and bring about unnecessary stress and overwhelm. What if instead of doing things according to a formula, you could create content intuitively, aligned with your strengths and passions? It doesn’t have to be a pipe dream. By changing your perspective and being open to a holistic approach, you can transform your content marketing journey.
The Holistic Content Marketing Method
The Holistic Content Marketing Method involves integrating your heart, mind, and soul into your content strategy. When you do this, content creation becomes simple and aligned with who you are at the core. Here are the ten steps broken down into heart, mind and soul.
Heart
The heart of content marketing includes four main things: You, Your Message, Client Journey, and Possibilities you create.
You: Traditional marketing tells us to start with knowing our ideal client thoroughly, but this can often leave us feeling stuck. Instead, start with understanding your values, strengths, and core beliefs. Knowing yourself first will make it easier to communicate authentically to your audience.
Your Message: Create a message that matters to you. This message should attract those with the right mindset and attitude to work with you. It’s not about trickery; it’s about being genuine and confident in what you believe in.
Client Journey: Understanding the mini-stages of your client’s journey from not knowing you to converting is critical. Know what they are thinking, feeling, and doing at each of these stages.
Possibilities You Create: Identify the challenges your clients face and what they truly desire. Communicate how working with you can transform their lives, addressing their needs and aspirations.
Mind
Mind involves strategic thinking and purposeful processes: Attract, Nurture, Prepare, Plan, and Process.
Attract: Create the right lead magnet or opt-in that brings an aligned audience – not everyone, just the right people.
Nurture: Nurture your audience through social media, regular email marketing, and core content like blogs or podcasts – all in a way that aligns with your time, energy and resources.
Prepare: Prepare content ideas all at once to avoid procrastination and stay on track. Knowing what topics to talk about high-level makes the actual content creation smoother.
Plan: Map out your content around any planned promotions, launches, or events. This ensures logical journey for both you and your ideal clients.
Process: Establish a process for consistent content creation. This isn’t just about systems; it’s about making the whole process easier when you decide to outsource parts of it.
Soul
Soul focuses on momentum. It’s about consistency, visibility, forward thinking, and building a community that inspires.
Momentum: Having your soul in your work means you’re on purpose, working towards a vision that excites and motivates you, making a real difference in people’s lives.
Bringing it all together
Content that’s easy to create is aligned with you – not just with your ideal client. Start with your heart, and then align your mind and soul. From there, consistency, visibility, and sales will follow. Your message will attract your dream clients naturally because it’s genuine and resonates deeply with those who share the same values.
So take a moment to reflect on where you are in your content marketing journey. Start integrating your heart, mind, and soul. When everything feels aligned, your content creation process will transform from a chore to a meaningful task.
