Does creating content feel like another task you’re supposed to tick off or something that drains your energy rather than fuels your purpose?
I want you to know that you’re surrounded by content ideas! Right now, you’re sitting on a goldmine of content inspiration. It just takes a small shift to start noticing it.
Let’s explore how you can uncover those ideas and bring more ease, confidence and intention into your content creation.
Originality Doesn’t Mean Starting from Scratch
It’s easy to believe every piece of content needs to be brand new. But when you put that kind of pressure on yourself, it can quickly lead to a blank screen and a heavy feeling.
Your audience doesn’t need brand new ideas every time. They need consistency and repetition. They need to hear your core messages in different ways, at different times, so they actually land.
One idea, shared across a variety of formats, platforms or angles, is far more powerful than constantly chasing something new.
Let Mind Mapping Make Space for Ideas
One of the tools I keep coming back to is mind mapping. It’s a visual way to download everything from your brain and start making sense of what’s there.
You can create a mind map once a year, once a quarter, or even monthly if that suits your rhythm. The important thing is to give yourself space to reflect on your offers, your clients, what’s changing, what’s staying the same.
Your business will grow and evolve over time, and your ideas will too. A mind map gives those ideas room to show up.
Look Around You for Everyday Inspiration
Some of the best content ideas come from the most unexpected places. The key is to start noticing.
Here are a few places I look to regularly:
- Industry conversations: What’s happening in your space? Do you agree with it? Would you approach it differently?
- Other business owners: Not for comparison, but to see what’s being talked about, what’s missing, or what could be said more clearly.
- Books, podcasts, conversations: Inspiration can come from the smallest moment. It may be a sentence that made you pause, a thought that stuck, something your child said over breakfast.
You don’t need to wait for a bolt of brilliance. Just tune in to what’s already around you.
Let Your Audience Show You What They Need
Your clients and community are constantly giving you content ideas. You just need a way to capture them.
Start by paying attention to:
- Questions in your inbox or DMs
- Common objections before someone works with you
- Testimonials that show how far someone’s come
- Comments or conversations that pop up again and again
Every question or moment of insight is an opportunity to support your people and position yourself as the guide they’re looking for.
Create One Place to Store Your Ideas
Ideas will strike at the most inconvenient times. A single place to store them makes it easy to come back to them later.
Whether you prefer a Notes app, a Google Doc, a voice memo, or a spreadsheet, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that it works for you, and you can access it quickly when you’re ready to create.
This is what makes your idea bank sustainable, not scattered.
Plan Strategically with the 4P Framework
If you’ve been around my world for a while, you’ll know I love a good system. And one of the most helpful for content creation is the 4Ps – Prepare, Plan, Produce, Process.
Here’s what it can look like:
- Prepare: Start with a brain dump or mind map
- Plan: Organise those ideas around your goals or themes
- Produce: Create content in a way that works with your energy
- Process: Reimagine your content so it works harder for you
This simple structure keeps your content aligned and purposeful, especially when you’re creating around an offer or event.
Make Space for Sustainable Inspiration
Great content isn’t about being switched on all the time. It’s about creating habits that support regular inspiration.
Take a moment to reflect on:
- What’s bothering you in your industry right now?
- What conversations have you had with clients or peers lately?
- Have your views changed on something recently?
These moments often hold powerful insights, and they deserve to be explored.
You’re Already Closer Than You Think
You don’t need to look outside yourself for more ideas, strategies, or answers. You already know so much.
When you allow yourself space to pause, reflect, and gather your thoughts without judgement, the ideas come. You move from content feeling heavy and hard to feeling light, purposeful and powerful.
That’s when content stops being a chore and starts becoming the connection tool it was always meant to be.
If you’re ready to take everything we’ve talked about and turn it into a clear, doable plan, then A Year’s Worth of Content Ideas is the perfect next step. In this live workshop, you’ll create a bank of purposeful content ideas tailored to your business, your offers, and your clients, without the overwhelm. You’ll walk away feeling clear, confident, and excited to show up with content that actually moves your business forward. I’d love to see you there!
