The best way I know to realign? Look at your content through the lens of The Holistic Content Marketing Method by using your heart, mind, and soul.
Heart: Does your content feel true to you?
Your heart is the core of your business. It’s what you stand for, what you care about, and how you want to show up.
When your heart is out of alignment, you might notice:
- You feel disconnected from the content you’re creating.
- Your words feel flat or forced.
- The people reaching out aren’t the kind of clients you really want to work with.
Here’s how to bring your heart back into alignment:
- Start with you: Are you creating content that showcases your values and core beliefs? You may have grown or gone in a different direction.
- Check your message. Is it speaking clearly to your ideal client’s problems, dreams, and goals? Or is it so broad that it’s catching everyone (and therefore, no one)?
- Think about the client journey. If all your content is teaching and giving tips, you may attract people who just want free help. Balance it with stories, invitations, and reminders of how people can take the next step with you.
- Talk about transformation. Don’t just list what you do. Paint a picture of the shift your clients can expect when they work with you. Show them what’s possible to be, do or have after working with you.
Mind: Do you have the right strategy and systems in place?
This is the “thinking” part of your content. Your mind is what keeps everything structured and intentional.
Without a clear strategy, it’s easy to create content that looks busy but doesn’t actually move the right people closer to you.
When your mind is out of alignment you might notice:
- You’re attracting lots of leads but very few are a good fit.
- People grab your free resource and disappear.
- Your emails get low engagement or unsubscribes spike.
- You feel like you’re “winging it” rather than following a plan.
If you recognise any of these symptoms, here’s how to get your strategy back on track:
- Lead magnets that make sense. Your freebie should solve a real problem for your ideal client and naturally lead into your offer. If it’s too general, you’ll keep attracting the wrong audience.
- Email sequences that build trust. Go beyond tips and share stories, results, and transformations. This helps people self-select. The right ones lean in, and the wrong ones quietly step back.
- Prepare, plan and process with purpose. Don’t just create on the fly. Map out content that aligns with your business goals and your client’s needs. Consistency here keeps you front of mind for the people you really want to serve.
Soul: Does it feel sustainable?
Finally, let’s talk about your soul — the energy and flow behind everything you create.
You could have the most beautiful strategy in the world, but if it drains you, it won’t last. And when you stop showing up, the right people stop seeing you.
Some Symptoms that Soul is Misaligned may include:
- You have bursts of activity, then disappear for weeks.
- You feel exhausted from trying to be everywhere.
- The right people might be finding you, but you lose them because you don’t stay present.
- Your creative energy feels flat.
Here’s how to realign your soul:
- Check your rhythm. Are you burning yourself out with bursts of content followed by silence? Find a pace that actually works for you.
- Align with your energy. If you’re forcing yourself into strategies that don’t feel good, you’ll always struggle to stay consistent. Choose approaches that fit your natural energy and strengths.
Often, the smallest shifts whether it be tweaking your message, refreshing a lead magnet, adjusting your content rhythm can creative a shift and start attracting clients who light you up.
Because when your heart, mind, and soul are aligned, your content feels better, flows easier, and naturally draws in the right people.
