There is no doubt that content creation can be a time consuming process. What with coming up with ideas, executing them, editing and publishing, it can be a huge time suck. And when it’s not something that you love to do, it can then turn into a chore.

If you’d like to know how to make content creation quicker and easier then read on! Here are my top 5 time saving hacks for content creation.

Know your source themes

Source themes are all the ways that you can describe the foundations of your business. Think about what you sell, who you sell to, why you do it and what’s going on behind the scenes.

Once you know these in detail, then you can build any piece of content quickly and easily.

Pre-prepare

I would guess that the majority of time that you spend on content creation is coming up with ideas on what to write. If you have a bank of topics already mapped out, then you can save time by jumping straight into the doing.

This blog is a step by step guide on how I map out a year’s worth of blog topics each year.

Reimagine

Why start from the beginning with every piece of content you create? You can save a bucketload of time by thinking about how you can take the content that you already have and turn it into something else! Reimagining is easy once you have a process in place.

Each of my blogs becomes a Facebook Live, series of Instagram stories, several tips and quotes. You may like to transcribe your podcast, turn it into quotes and tips, promote it on social media and use it as the basis for starting conversations in your Facebook Group. There’s no limit to your imagination when it comes to reimagination!

Map your client journey

What is your ideal client thinking, feeling and doing at each stage of the client journey? Once you know this, you can quickly identify the gaps in your content and what you need to talk about to move them along in their journey with you.

As an example, at the beginning of our journey together my ideal client (hopefully it’s you!) is feeling overwhelmed and despondent with the thought of creating content. They are looking for shortcuts, ways to make it easier and want to know how to optimise its impact. They are feeling down that others in the same industry seem to be getting all the attention and are often Googling how to run Facebook Ads or finding business coaches to follow on social media.

The result? This blog! I’ve identified what my ideal client is thinking, feeling and doing at the Connect stage of our journey together and have written this blog to help them find some answers.

Method or system in place

My last time saving hack is to write it down and do it the same way every time. That way you can get straight into the mindset of exactly what you need to do and you don’t miss a step in the process.

Besides writing or recording your piece of content, you also need to edit, upload, publish, promote, create graphics, send it in an email and extract your reimagined pieces of content.

I have all of these steps written down and so that I (or a team member) can tick them off every time I write a blog. We become far more efficient when we’re not struggling to remember all the moving pieces.

Even if you implement just one of these time saving hacks for your content creation, you’ll be well on your way to becoming a content creating machine!
