A magnetic message is simply the way that we communicate what we do to our ideal client that draws them in, allows them to identify with you and makes them want to buy from you.

A good magnetic messageIn my opinion magnetic messaging doesn’t involve tricky sales tactics or spammy methods. It’s simply a true reflection of who you are and what you stand for. Here’s five ways it helps you build your audience and grow your business.

Draws in your ideal client

I always thought that when experts talked about ‘having a message’ or ‘owning your message’, it meant that you had a sentence or two that you used in your promo posts on social media.

Now I understand that it’s so much more than that. It’s more a feeling or sense that you give your ideal client that helps you first connect with them and start raising the awareness of who you are and what you do.

Magnetic messages are crafted in a way that gives your ideal client a peep hole into who you are, what you stand for (and what you don’t stand for), so that they can identify with you and begin to imagine what it would be like working with you.

Takes your ideal client on a journey

Your magnetic message isn’t always going to be exactly the same. People are at different stages of the client journey with you, so all need to hear slightly different versions of your message according to what they’re thinking, feeling and doing at each stage.

When we can articulate our message according to the stage of the client journey they’re at, that’s when their vision of what it would be like working with you becomes stronger, so that they eventually purchase from you.

Shows why you’re different

There’s plenty of other people who do what you do, or who can solve your ideal client’s problems in a different way. So, magnetic messaging helps to differentiate you from other service providers. What makes you unique? How do you do the ordinary differently? This is what makes your message become magnetic.

Helps to visualise the outcome

Lastly, magnetic messaging gives your ideal client an indication of what it’ll be like to work with you. Think about how you solve the problem that they have, what they’ll be able to do once they’ve worked with you and most importantly, how they’re going to feel at the end.

Magnetic messaging is so much more than a formulaic way of communicating with our ideal client. It’s a sense or feeling that we can weave through all of our content in a way that really resonates with them and takes them on a journey from not knowing anything about us, all the way to becoming a raving fan.

When done right, it allows them to connect, nurture and then convert.
